Vegan Pizza School Launches in Spain

The Vegan Gastronomy Culinary Academy in Palma de Mallorca, Spain recently announced the launch of an all-vegan pizza school. The five-day course, the first of which will begin in March 2019, trains home cooks, aspiring pizza chefs, and professionals on traditional Neapolitan techniques, the Italian roots of New York-style pizza, and modern-day approaches such as Chicago-style thick crust and artisanal California pies. “This is the next chapter in our growing success of mainstreaming vegan food,” Vegan Gastronomy Culinary Academy founder Stephanie Prather said. “We are taking our expertise in flavor and textures, and merging it together with low cost and healthier approaches to enabling vegan pizza to be a tasty mainstream alternative in a changing food landscape.” The Vegan Pizza School courses are taught in person at the Spain-based academy or online. Students will receive a vegan pizzaiola chef certificate a fter completing the course. The Vegan Gastronomy Culinary Academy opened in 2013 to teach students how to make plant-based dishes easily and affordably and has since expanded to locations in Australia, Las Vegas, NV, and Orange County, CA.
